RangeForce racks up $16m in series A

US-based cybersecurity training software developer RangeForce has raised $16m in a series A round backed by Cisco Investments, the corporate venturing arm of networking technology company Cisco.

Venture capital firm Energy Impact Partners led the round, which included Paladin Capital Group and Trind Ventures. It came after a $1.5m seed round in May 2019 that was led by Trind Ventures and backed by Paladin Capital.

Founded in 2014, RangeForce provides software that helps train users in cybersecurity defence tactics, employing a variety of skills modules and cyberattack simulations.

The system assesses each user to identify any gaps in their expertise and can also connect to third-party IT products. The funding will go to product development, international expansion and the growth of the company’s training orchestration partnerships.
