Reed Elsevier Ventures (REV), the corporate venturing unit of UK-based publisher Reed Elsevier, is leading the $6m latest round for GigaOm, a US-based business and technology media company.
Venture capital firms Alloy Ventures and True Ventures reinvested in the round while news provider TechCrunch said GigaOm was valued at $40m.
Kevin Brown, partner at REV is joining GigaOm’s board.
GigaOm will also expand to Europe where Bobbie Johnson, former technology writer for The Guardian, will be head. The company reportedly previously raised $8.3m.
