Relationship Science, a US-based enterprise networking platform developer backed by media company Hearst and cloud computing company Salesforce.com, completed a $31m series D round on Thursday.
The round featured contributions from Table Holdings, which acts as an investment affiliate of hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, and undisclosed new and old investors.
Founded in 2012, Relationship Science’s RelSci platform helps businesses combine and use their contacts for functions including sales, fundraising and strategic planning.
The company has now raised approximately $120m in total funding from investors including Hearst’s corporate venturing unit Hearst Ventures, Salesforce, Starr Principal Holdings, which invests as a subsidiary of insurance firm CV Starr, RIT Capital Partners, MacAndrews & Forbes and several private investors.
Salesforce first invested as part of the company’s $30m series C round in 2013, while Hearst and Starr were among the contributors to the $60m that Relationship Science raised in earlier rounds.
Relationship Science revealed the funding at the same time as the appointment of Jon Robson, previously the CEO of NYSE Technologies, a division of financial services firm NYSE Euronext, as its new CEO.
