Ribbit Capital has raised $100m for its debut fund from limited partners including financial services firms BBVA and Silicon Valley Bank.
Serial entrepreneur Meyer “Micky” Malka (pictured), who founded or invested in Bling Nation, Meck, Banco Bracce, Peixe Urbano and Wonga, leads Ribbit, which said it had “bets” on financial services start-ups Borro, Capital Access Network, ContaAzul and Fuze Network.
The other partner in Ribbit, which means interest in Hebrew, is Nick Shalek, former entrepreneur and investment director at Yale University’s endowment.
