China-based cybersecurity technology provider River Security has raised RMB100m ($14.5m) in a series C round led by Legend Capital, the venture capital firm established by conglomerate Legend Holdings.
Founded in 2012, River Security has developed software that helps users protect their interent servers from malicious attacks.
The company’s customers include state-owned telecommunications firms China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, as well as government agencies, infrastructure firms and companies in the finance, healthcare, education and energy sectors.
River Security had previously received an undisclosed amount of funding in a 2015 angel round and a series A the same year that was backed by Softbank China Venture Capital, a corporate venturing subsidiary of internet and telecommunications group SoftBank, and iStart Ventures.
