Gaurav Sachdeva, formerly the general manager of strategic investments at Brand Capital, the investment vehicle of media company Times Group, has joined the newly established JSW Venture Fund, the Economic Times reported yesterday.
The fund was set up by Sajjan Jindal, chairman and managing director of India-based industrial conglomerate JSW. It will act as a family office for the Jindal family, rather than a corporate venturing arm for the company.
The fund is targeting a close of up to Rs 1bn ($15m), and will be led by Sachdeva as managing partner. It is expected to focus on seed and series A rounds, investing between $450,000 and $900,000 in individual deals.
The fund is currently still awaiting regulatory approval.
