France-based glass maker Saint-Gobain has started its fourth Nova Innovation Competition after Germany-based Trovotech won the 2011 competition for producing glass particles at high temperatures.
Nova External Venturing, the Saint-Gobain corporate venturing unit, is looking for innovations in construction products, advanced materials, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability and the competition is offering cash prizes and consideration for partnership opportunities with Saint-Gobain.
Final selection of eight to 12 entrants will take place at the Saint-Gobain booth at Greenbuild in San Francisco, US, on November 15 with three winners chosen.
The competition’s winners will benefit from three cash prizes: $50,000 (first place and nearly double last year’s award), $25,000 (second place) and $10,000 (third place).
Submission deadline (in English only) is June 30 with selection of finalists in early September.
