Salesforce Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of cloud computing company Salesforce.com, took part in a $10.25m series D round for US-based marketing platform provider Kapost yesterday.
The round also included venture capital funds High Country Ventures and Access Venture Partners, VC firm Cue Ball Capital, private equity firm Iron Gate Capital, and growth equity firm Lead Edge Capital.
Kapost’s lead product, Marketing Content Engine, provides marketing teams with calendaring, collaboration, workflow and analytics tools on one platform. It has attracted some 120 clients to date, including computer manufacturer Dell, professional social media network LinkedIn and insurance company Zurich.
Kapost launched in early 2010 as Grogger, providing a content management system to manage a community of writers, and participated in the TechStars accelerator the same year. Shortly after graduating from the accelerator, it renamed itself and pivoted to a marketing platform.
The company has raised approximately $19m to date. Its other backers include Highway 12 Venture, Zelkova Ventures, Circle P Capital, Floodgate, and a range of angel investors.
