Salesforce hits Highspot in $15m series B

US-based sales support technology developer Highspot has raised $15m in a series B round featuring Salesforce Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of enterprise software provider Salesforce.

Venture capital firm Shasta Ventures led the round, which included Madrona Venture Group, the VC firm that led Highspot’s $9.6m series A round in 2014.

Highspot uses artificial intelligence to help sales teams optimise the content they use when dealing with potential customers.

The platform’s features include semantic search, contextual recommendations to discover the best content for particular customers, and Content Genomics, a patented technology used to track how content is used and shared across a company.

Highspot said the latest funding would help it accelerate its growth plan, which includes a move into new markets.

Robert Wahbe, chief executive of Highspot, said: “Easily accessible, high-quality content and training materials have become key factors in sales rep performance.

“Our focus is to build on our AI capabilities and continue delivering a complete sales enablement solution that sales reps and marketers love.”
