Intel Capital, the corporate venturing and strategic investment unit of US-based semiconductor maker Intel , has invested an undisclosed amount in Taiwan-based SanJet Technology, a digital image solution provider in greater China. The investment was made with funding from the $100m Intel Capital Connected Car Fund, and will support the development of SanJet’s applications for wearable and vehicle devices.
Sudheer Kuppam, managing director, Asia Pacific region, Intel Capital, said: “SanJet is well-placed to capitalize on the growing demand for video consumption in and around the vehicle with the technology advancements the company has made. We are excited by their roadmap and the potential that they bring to high end smart monitoring devices.”
SanJet designs and manufactures a range of portable digital video recorders including dashboard DVRs (digital video recorders), action cameras, IP cameras, and wearable cameras.
