SAP finds the right line to Manta

Manta, a US-based data intelligence services provider, raised $13m on Wednesday from a consortium including SAP.iO Fund, the corporate venturing arm of enterprise software producer SAP.

Venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, with participation from Senovo and Credo Ventures, the VC firms that had supplied an undisclosed amount for the company in September 2018. It added $4m from two unnamed backers in October 2019.

Formed in 2008 as an internal tool of Czech Republic-based consulting firm Profinit, Manta provides users with an automated lineage of their data to provide a map of all of their data flows and connections.

Ram Jambunathan, managing director of SAP.iO, said: “It has become an imperative for SAP customers to understand both the journey and transformation of data in their organisations in business-critical areas including regulatory reporting, system improvement, upgrades and stability.”
