SAP Ventures, the corporate venturing unit belonging to Germany-based software corporation SAP, has participated in a $8m series A round for Gild, a US-based company which helps companies evaluate and hire software developers.
The round was led by venture capital firm Baseline Ventures, and included VC peer Globespan Capital Partners and angel investor Mark Kvamme, who invested in business network LinkedIn, which SAP had later backed.
Gild raised $2.4m in 2011 and $2m in 2012 in seed funding. Both rounds were led by Globespan Capital Partners.
In September 2011, Gild acquired Italy-based Coderloop, an automated code evaluating and scoring platform.
Steve Anderson, founder of Baseline Ventures, said: “Of all of the companies offering tech recruiting solutions, Gild is by far the fastest growing company in both revenues and customer growth. We like how they differentiate on deep data science and meritocracy.”
