Spain-based electronic voting technology developer Scytl has raised $20m from SAP Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of Germany-based software company SAP.
Scytl’s software, which has been used by governments in 36 countries, aims to modernise the election process by providing secure voter registration and voting services online. The new funds will be used for company expansion, and to increase its reserch and development efforts.
The latest round follows a $40m inevstment in April from Vulcan Capital, theinvestment firm of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
Scytl raised $9.2m in a series B round from Balderton Capital and Nauta Capital in 2010.
