Scribble Technologies, a Canada-based provider of real-time content publishing and delivery services, has raised C$4m ($4m) in its series A round supported by local phone company Rogers’ corporate venturing unit.
Alongside Rogers Ventures in the A round was venture capital firm Summerhill Venture Partners, which had previously spun off from being Canadian phone operator BCE’s corporate venturing unit.
Scribble provides its ScribbleLive service to four out of the top five news agencies in the world. Michael De Monte, Scribble’s chief executive, said: "It is very exciting to have The Associated Press, The Press Association, Agencia EFE and Thomson Reuters place such confidence in our company."
The $4m will help Scribble develop its LiveArticle service, which helps news organisations create a real-time news article that summarizes an ongoing event by featuring multiple contributors and including photos, videos, audio files and social media content.
