Japan-based unmanned aerial vehicle technology developer V-Cube Robotics has raised $10.8m in funding from investors including diversified trading firm Itochu and rebranded to Sensyn Robotics.
Itochu, which took part through its Itochu Technology Ventures unit, was joined by Eight Roads Ventures Japan, a subsidiary of financial services and investment group Fidelity, as well as Drone Fund and Globis Capital Partners, which previously invested in V-Cube in 2016.
Founded in 2015, Sensyn is developing drones as well as adjacent technologies such as a platform that allows users to exchange images shot by drones in real time, and a system that automates the overhead photographic inspection of solar photovoltaic power installations.
