UK-based medical equipment developer Quanta Fluid Solutions has raised £27m ($43m) in a series B round featuring Aliad, the venture capital investment vehicle of medical gases and equipment producer Air Liquide.
Engineering company IMI, venture capital firms Seventure Partners, B-to-V Partners, Wellington Partners and Seroba Kernal, and VC fund NBGI also participated.
Quanta produces advanced haemodialysis systems for kidney dialysis that can be used in the clinic and the home. The capital will aid the clinical introduction and commercialisation of Quanta’s SC+ advance hemodialysis system.
Quanta raised $14.3m in a series A round in 2009 from NBGI, Seroba Kernel Life Sciences, Wellington Partners Venture Capital and B-to-V.
The company was founded in 2008 as a spin-out of engineering company IMI.
