Brille24, a Germany-based online optician, has received an undisclosed amount of strategic investment from SevenVentures, the venture arm of Germany-based media company ProSiebenSat.1.
The investment will fund further growth of the company. Under the terms of the transaction, Brille24 will be able to advertise for new customers on the German TV channels of the ProSiebenSat.1 group, starting in autumn 2013 and running until the end of 2015.
Martin van Os, chief financial officer of Brille24, said: “After an excellent financial year and the general market development of online prescription glasses sales it was a logical move for us to get a strategic partner on board.”
The deal is subject to approval by the German Antitrust Authority.
