US-based ride sharing start-up SideCar has acquired Heyride, a ride-sharing application, for an undisclosed amount.
SideCar uses smartphones to connect drivers to those who need a ride and has also begun an expansion into new US cities.
In October last year, SideCar raised $10m in its series A round led by the the corporate venturing unit of search engine provider Google and early-stage venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners. Also invested in the company are Spring Ventures, Huron River Ventures, SV Angel and Lerer Ventures.
