Siegel becomes CEO of GE Healthymagination

Sue Siegel, formerly of Mohr Davidow Ventures, was yesterday appointed as chief executive of Healthymagination, a GE programme with $6bn to invest in healthcare.

Siegel, a 52-year old, has left her role as general partner at Mohr Davidow, and she succeeds Mike Barber.

Barber has become vice president and general manager of molecular imaging at GE Healthcare.

Jeff Immelt, GE chairman and chief executive, said: "Sue Siegel’s great passion for advancing healthcare is matched by her keen understanding of innovation, her sharp business sense, and her proven leadership. As we continue to work with our partners to revolutionize health, we need a leader to connect GE with new healthcare businesses, thought leaders and governments as we seek new models of healthcare delivery and innovation, across GE and the globe. Sue is the right leader at the right time for Healthymagination."

Siegel was also previously president of Affymetrix, a publicly traded genomic company, which she helped grow from a start-up to a multi-billion dollar company.  Siegel was also formerly an executive at corporates including Amersham International, now part of GE Healthcare, EI DuPont, Eastman Kodak, and Bio-Rad.
