Poland-based smart lighting company Silvair has raised $12m in a series A round backed by CyberAgent Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of internet company CyberAgent, TechCrunch has reported.
Internet company Digital Garage, investment management firm Trigon TFI and venture capital firm New Europe Ventures also participated in the round.
Silvair uses Bluetooth mesh technology that enables enables retail and office building managers to wirelessly configure, control and manage commercial lighting environments.
The platform uses beacons to detect occupancy and track customers, making it possible for example to sense when lights need to be on in a specific area or room. New sensors and lights can be added to the network within seconds.
Previously known as Seed Labs, the company secured $3.1m in funding from angel investors Andrzej Targosz and Paul Papadimit in 2014, according to deals database Pitchbook.
