China-based online travel agency Shijiebang has closed a series B round led by microblogging platform Sina Weibo, China Money Network reported today.
The round reportedly raised several tens of millions of dollars. The other investors were not named. Shijiebang and Sina Weibo have also entered a partnership agreement to work together on marketing, driving traffic and sharing products.
Established in 2012, Shijiebang offers its Chinese customer base personalised travel package trips to foreign countries.
Users can get customised packages after answering a series of questions through the platform, before local travel experts finalise the structure of the trip within 48 hours.
Fosun Kinzon Capital, the corporate venturing arm of conglomerate Fosun, venture capital firm China Rock Capital and angel investors including Jerry Yang, co-founder of internet company Yahoo, previously provided an eight-figure dollar amount of funding for the company in 2013.
