Sinar Mas Land, a property development subsidiary of conglomerate Sinar Mas intends to launch an Indonesia-based accelerator in partnership with accelerator operators Digitaraya and GK Plug and Play Indonesia, KrAsia has reported.
BSD Innovation Labs will focus on property technology concepts including smart city models beneficial to Bumi Serpong Damai, a planned community near the city of Jakarta that is managed by Sinar Mas Land, which already has a local smart city technology deal in place with on-demand ride provider Grab.
The scheme will begin operating in early 2020 and will connect its participants with tech support from Google, whose Google Developers Launchpad was a co-founder of Digitaraya.
Startups will also be able to meet potential partners and investors through GK-Plug and Play Indonesia, a local offshoot of startup builder Plug and Play whose backers include Sinar Mas and financial services firms Bank Negara Indonesia and Bank Tabungan Negara.
