US-based advertising platform ZypMedia has closed a $4.4m series B round led by telecommunications company Sinclair Broadcast Group and featuring US Venture Partners.
Founded in 2013 as ExtendTV, the company provides an advertising platform for desktop, mobile and connected televisions. Marketers can target advertising for specific geographies, demographics, contexts, and behaviours.
ZypMedia will use the series B funding to continue development of its platform and expand across the US. The company has also signed a long-term agreement with Sinclair, and will provide its advertising platform to salespeople across 79 countries.
Rob Weisbord, chief operating officer of Sinclair’s Digital Group will join ZypMedia’s board of directors.
US Venture Partners previously invested a $2.5m series A round in 2013.
Weisbord said: “After testing a number of different solutions, it was clear that the ZypMedia platform produced superior results for our clients and their level of service was widely praised by our team.
“We are confident that this partnership will prove to be a crucial asset in our digital strategy moving forward.”
