Singapore-based restaurant booking service Chope has raised S$11m ($8m) in a series C round featuring publisher Singapore Press, Tech in Asia has reported.
The round was co-led by investment firm F&H Fund Management and venture capital firm NSI Ventures. Investment firm DSG Consumer Partners, VC fund Frontier Ventures and additional, undisclosed China-based investors also contributed funding.
Founded in 2011, Chope operates a platform that enables users to book tables at restaurants in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Bangkok. The company also offers a booking management service to restaurants in return for a monthly fee.
The latest funding round will support expansion, as well as research and development for new products such as a feed that shows a user where friends are dining.
Singapore Press led Chope’s $2.5m series B round in 2013, at which time it held a 27.8% stake. Chope has not revealed details about its 2012 series A round, but various reports suggest it raised between $880,000 and $1.1m in the round.
