Chope, a Singapore-based restaurant reservation application, has raised $10.6m in series E funding from a consortium co-led by Singha Ventures, the corporate venturing unit for alcoholic beverage producer Boonrawd Brewery Group, DealStreetAsia has reported.
Venture capital firm Square Peg Capital co-led the round, which lifted the total raised by the company to roughly $25m.
Chope runs an online platform which allows people to find and reserve places at restaurants in the cities of Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Bangkok, Phuket, Jakarta and Bali.
The company closed a $13m round in 2017 led by Square Peg Capital that featured quantitative trading firm Susquehanna International Group (SIG), C31 Ventures and SPH Ventures, on behalf of real estate developer CapitaLand and publisher Singapore Press Holdings, as well as Moelis Australia, NSI Ventures and DSG Consumer Partners.
Singapore Press joined F&H Fund Management, NSI Ventures, DSG Consumers Partners and Frontier Ventures in Chope’s $8m series C round in 2015, having led its $2.5m series B round two years earlier. The company reportedly raised roughly $1m from unnamed investors in 2012.
