SingTel Innov8, the SingTel Group’s corporate venturing fund, led the A$5m ($5.3m) series A round in Australia-based group buying company Dealised and was joined by Australia-based venture capital firm Yuuwa Capital.
Dealised provides partners such as media and telecommunication firms, retailers and others with a group buying platform to claim economies of scale when dealing with suppliers, the company said.
Yvonne Kwek, chief executive of SingTel Innov8, said: "Dealised’s platform and market knowledge offers publishers, media companies and telco companies the opportunity to generate better value for their customers through innovative group-buying services."
Other Dealised investors include Australia-based start-up incubator Pollenizer and angel investors.
Dealised set up Spreets, an Australian deals site, in 2009 which was sold last year to US-based internet services provider Yahoo’s local subsidiary for A$40m.
