SK Telecom starts uCirrus round

uCirrus, a US-based technology to help social media games developers, has raised $1.7m of an expected $4.4m equity round, according to a filing with the US regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The software company recently launched a platform for MySpace game developers that brings push technology – a way to more efficiently deliver updated information and functionality – to Flash games.

Rob Trice, senior managing director of SK Telecom Ventures, the corporate venturing division of Korea’s main telecoms company, and Mike Hodges of venture capital firm ATA Ventures are investors in the company, which was formerly known as Groovy Corporation.
