M12, software provider Microsoft’s corporate venturing unit, has led a $28m series B round for US-based workforce management software provider Skedulo.
Venture capital firms Blackbird and Costanoa Ventures also participated in the round, and M12 principal Priya Saiprasad will take a seat on Skedulo’s board of directors in conjunction with its investment. The company has now raised $40.5m since it was founded in Australia in 2013.
Skedulo has created a software platform that helps businesses manage mobile, deskless workers, scheduling tasks and allocating them to team members. It will use the funding to expand its workforce, adding 60 new team members to its Australian offices alone.
Costanoa had previously led the company’s $9.2m series A round in 2016, investing alongside existing backer Blackbird to bring its overall funding to $11m.
Priya Saiprasad said: “Skedulo makes it easier than ever for modern businesses to manage a mobile workforce, providing customers the tools and resources needed to empower their employees on the go.
“We are excited to support the Skedulo team in its efforts to better serve customers by enhancing the way employers engage with their employees.”
