Brittany Skoda has left her position as vice-president of investments at Workday Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of human resources software producer Workday, to join investment bank Morgan Stanley, Bloomberg has reported.
Skoda has been appointed managing director and global head of software banking for Morgan Stanley’s technology division. She will work alongside Melissa Knox, who has been promoted to global head of software at the bank.
Workday Ventures hired Skoda in May 2018 to lead the unit’s strategic investing and help drive growth for portfolio companies. Its investments during that time include a $157m series D round for adult education provider Guild Education and a $60m round for carpooling platform Scoop Technologies.
Skoda had previously worked for investment bank Goldman Sachs for almost a decade, starting as an analyst in technology investment banking before climbing the ladder all the way to senior vice-president.
Clients of Morgan Stanley’s technology division have included cybersecurity software producer Forescout Technologies, which was acquired by private equity firm Advent International this month, two years after going public in a $116m initial public offering that provided exits to corporates Intel and Itochu.
The unit has also advised ride hailing service Uber and enterprise communication platform Slack on their initial public offerings in May 2019 and June 2019, respectively.
