US-based computer security firm Skybox Security secured $6m on Tuesday in a round led by Susquehanna Growth Equity (SGE), the private equity division of financial services group the Susquehanna International Group of Companies, with participaion by unnamed existing investors.
Although Skybox did not disclose the identity of the other investors, they include Mistubishi UFJ Capital, the corporate venturing unit belonging to the financial services firm Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
Mitsubishi UFJ invested in Skybox’s $2m December 2009 series D round along with venture capital (VC) firm Benchmark Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Rembrandt Venture Partners, and VC funds Carmel Ventures and Valley Venture Capital.
Prior to that tranche of series D financing, Skybox had raised $41m. Skybox plans to use the latest financing to further accelerate its growth by expanding into new territories and develop its sales structure by adding channel partners.
