Skycatch, a US-based unmanned aerial vehicle maker backed by wireless technology provider Qualcomm and internet company Google, has raised $22m of a $25m series B round, Dow Jones VentureWire reported yesterday.
Riverwood Ventures led the round, with participation by venture capital firm Sherpalo Ventures, and VC funds Avalon Ventures and ZPark Capital.
Skycatch produces drones as well as the software required to operate them, servicing customers that need both short-range data on demand and long-range data from altitude. It has now raised a total of $38.4m in equity and $5m in debt financing, according to regulatory filings.
The company’s investors include Qualcomm Ventures and Google Ventures, which act as Qualcomm and Google’s respective corporate venturing units, as well as Sherpalo, Bee Partners, FF Venture Capital, SierraMaya360 and SK Ventures.
