SmartRecruiters, a US-based recruitment software developer backed by enterprise software producer Salesforce, completed a $110m series E round on Tuesday led by Silver Lake Waterman.
Growth equity firm Insight Partners and venture capital firm Mayfield Fund also participated in the round, which valued the company at $1.5bn.
Founded in 2010, SmartRecruiters provides software used by enterprises to attract, select and hire new talent. Its talent acquisition platform can be used for applicant tracking and screening, candidate relationship management and text-based recruiting.
The platform has been used by 4,000 businesses globally, including payment services firm Visa and video game developer Ubisoft. The capital will support continued development of the company’s software, focusing on artificial intelligence, automation and conversational interfaces.
The funding will also be used for go-to-market activities in SmartRecruiters’ home country as well as in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
The company secured $50m in a series D round in mid-2019 led by Insight Partners that also featured Mayfield Fund and Rembrandt Venture Partners.
Insight Partners had also led a $30m series C round for SmartRecruiters in 2016 that included Mayfield. The company had received $19.5m in a 2015 series B round backed by Salesforce subsidiary Salesforce Ventures as well as Mayfield and Rembrandt Venture Partners.
