Online advertiser Metamarkets has appointed Adam Smith, former Google ads product manager and partner at AOL Ventures, as the new vice president of product. Metamarkets also recruited Jeff Epstein, former chief financial officer of DoubleClick, to the Metamarkets board of directors.
Smith was co-founder of First Floor Labs, a community of startups working out of the AOL building in the US. During his time at Google, Smith earned the first Founders Award for his work on the Ads Quality Team.
Smith said: “Metamarkets has built a killer app for publishers, advertising exchanges, and DSPs. I’m excited to help take our product to the next level, the revolution happening in real-time advertising markets is as disruptive as what I witnessed a decade ago with search. I look forward to joining Metamarkets at the leading edge of this wave.”
Jeff Epstein is currently an executive-in-residence at Bessemer Venture Partners and a Senior Advisor at Oak Hill Capital as well as serving on the Boards of Directors at Priceline.com.
In May Metamarkets raised $15m in a round led by venture firm Khosla Ventures.
