Yellow, the startup accelerator run by US-headquartered messaging platform developer Snap, has chosen its first nine participants, TechCrunch has reported.
Launched in May 2018, Yellow, provides $150,000 in funding for each startup, taking a 7% to 10% stake according to TechCrunch. It offers mentorship, commercial support and office space, and targets startups operating in the digital content and storytelling realm.
The US-based participants include fitness bootcamp operator ConBody, wedding video distribution and services platform Love Stories TV, body-positive lifestyle brand Premme and IDK, the operator of a digital media platform for Korean pop (K-Pop) artists.
Three more, immersive content startup Space Oddity Films, pop-up installation provider SelfieCircus and digital animation distributor Toonstar, were joined by UK-based mixed reality development studio ANRK and South Africa-based citizen journalism network Hashtag Our Stories.
