US-based freelance and contractor management platform WorkMarket raised $20m in series C funding on Wednesday from investors including SoftBank Capital, the corporate venturing arm of telecommunications company SoftBank.
The round was led by Union Square Ventures and also featured Spark Capital, Industry Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank.
WorkMarket received $10m from a 2013 series B round led by SoftBank Capital that also featured Union Square and Spark. It had already raised $6m in a series A round backed by Union Square and Spark in 2010.
WorkMarket offers companies a single platform to find, manage and pay freelancers and independent contractors. It has seen annual growth of approximately 125% since 2011.
