SoftBank joins Access All founder initiative

SoftBank will join UK-based venture capital firms Downing VenturesPlayfair Capital and SpeedInvest, as well as corporations Microsoft for Startups, Amazon, Accenture and O2 in supporting a virtual event geared toward founders from underrepresented groups.

Held on 30 September after the GCV Digital Forum on the 29th, Access All is a joint initiative by FlowwForce Over Mass and Telefonica’s corporate venturing unit, Wayra UK, to create more opportunity for underrepresented founders. Founders can register here.

In June, SoftBank formed a $100m fund that will invest in companies led by entrepreneurs and founders who are people of colour.

The Opportunity Growth Fund was announced by SoftBank chief operating officer Marcelo Claure in an internal letter that stated it will back “companies that use technology to disrupt traditional business models”.
