Japan-based media conglomerate SoftBank has invested a further $10m in US-based social media advertising company RockYou to take its total funding to nearly $80m in less than five years.
RockYou has in total raised $127m from strategic and venture capital investors, including SK Telecom Ventures, the corporate venturing division of South Korea-based SK Telecom.
In November, Softbank invested $50m in RockYou, which has more than 213 million monthly unique visitors and over 15 billion monthly page impressions, on top of nearly $20m previously, the company said.
As well as SK Telecom and Softbank, RockYou has raised its money from venture capital firms Doll Capital Management, Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
