Trivedi tries General Atlantic role

Vinay Trivedi, a former investor for telecommunications and internet group SoftBank, has joined growth equity firm General Atlantic as a vice-president.

Founded in 1980, General Atlantic backs growth-stage companies globally. The move involves Trivedi moving from San Francisco to New York as part of his new position, which will focus on technology deals from series B-stage onwards on behalf of the firm.

Trivedi worked for SoftBank Investment Advisers, which manages its Vision Fund, for approximately a year, after joining in 2018. It came after three-year stints at investment firm Blackstone Group’s private equity team and venture capital firm Romulus Capital.

The departure of Trivedi from SoftBank Vision Fund follows those of former managing partner Praveen Akkiraju and investment director Sean (Xiangyu) Liu in recent months.
