Markus Solibieda has left German chemical maker BASF’s corporate venturing arm to join a Saudi investment firm.

Solibieda, formerly managing director of BASF Venture Capital, is now the chief investment officer of Dussur, a partnership of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, oil major Saudi Aramco and chemical manufacturer Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).

Dussur invests in the industrial sector through joint venture partnerships. In his new role, Solibieda will do private equity investments in Saudi Arabia’s speciality chemical and metal sectors.

Solibieda spent seven years at BASF Venture Capital. Before that he worked for various private equity firms in Germany.
