Japan-based electronics company Sony is reportedly seeking to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Israeli medical technologies.
News provider Globes said Sony had set up a team to review the Israeli market to seek out companies for investment or acquisition.
Sony already provides technologies for documentation, storage, and specialized cameras for imaging and devices for recording the images, high-resolutions screens for displaying images and medical information, and printers, Globes added, as the boundaries between consumer electronics and medical devices has blurred.
Sony has acquired Micronics for mobile medical tests and ICyst Mission Technology for stem cell research.
