Soonr, a US-based provider of mobile software access systems, has raised $4.5m from its venture capital and strategic investors.
HighBar Ventures, an early-stage investment firm started by founders of technology company Sun Microsystems, led the series C round as a new investor alongside undisclosed previous investors.
Technology company Cisco Systems had led Soonr’s $9.5m series B round in January 2008 with Intel Capital, the in-house venture capital operation of chip maker Intel, participating alongside VC Sand Hill Capital and Clearstone Venture Partners.
John Kim, managing partner at HighBar Ventures, which is planning to raise a $100m institutional VC fund according to news provider VentureWire, said: "Our investment will allow Soonr to accelerate its partnership strategy and expand its world-class software-as-a-service."
