Sorenson Ventures closes second fund

Sorenson Ventures, an enterprise-focused venture capital firm that was founded by former Intel Capital stars Rob Rueckert and Ken Elefant, has raised $150m for its second fund.

Elefant said: “We raised money from traditional high quality LPs [limited partners,] including foundations, endowments and an insurance company, as well as corporate, family office and individual investors…. Several of our LPs have a strategic angle, especially wanting an early look around cyber trends we see.”

Its existing deals include:

CyCognito, a cyber security startup;
Botkeeper, an automated bookkeeping software company;
Paperspace, a machine-learning platform;
NS8, an anti-fraud company;
Openpath, a provider of a mobile-enabled cloud-based access control system;
Octarine, which offers security for cloud-native applications; and
Trizic, a platform engineered to deliver digital wealth management.
