SpaceCurve reaches for the stars

US-based data analysis company SpaceCurve secured $1.5m in series A financing on 15th December from a pool of backers including Reed-Elsevier Ventures, venture capital (VC) firm backed by publishing and data provision company Reed-Elsevier, and independent VC firm Divergent Ventures, according to an SEC filing.

The funding follows a $1.1m seed round raised in August 2010, which saw participation by both Reed Elsevier and Divergent.

SpaceCurve is the developer of a geospatial data analytics platform, which works by mapping geographic data. The firm’s technology is based in research aimed at solving indexing problems with Google Earth, the search engine’s geographical mapping system.
