Accelerator Startupbootcamp has announced its first digital health program to take place in Europe – a Berlin, Germany-based initiative that is supported by several corporate partners.
The accelerator’s partners are pharmaceutical company Sanofi’s German subsidiary, financial services firm Deutsche Apotheker-und Ärztebank (ApoBank), insurance firm Munich Health and software developer Arvato, through its CRM Healthcare offering.
Startupbootcamp is seeking 10 digital health startups from across the world for the three-month initiative and is particularly interested in the areas of behaviour change, diagnostics, genomics, big data and analytics.
Startups will benefit from a €15,000 ($17,000) cash injection, mentorship from health industry corporates and investors, and six months of free co-working space in the German capital. The program will be led by managing director Juliane Zielonka.
Clemens Kaiser, country chair Germany at Sanofi, said: “We always look for new and innovative ways to bring better treatment options to patients. The Digital Health accelerator is a promising chance to combine expertise and to find digital solutions for unmet medical needs.”
The deadline for applications is August 30, 2016, with the accelerator program beginning on November 7.
