Startupbootcamp sets up shop in Australia

Startup hub operator Startupbootcamp has launched its first Australia-based initiative, setting up an accelerator in Melbourne with support from a range of corporate partners.

The Australian program will focus on smart energy, smart grid, smart home and sustainable energy technology. It will select 10 startups for the scheme and each will receive $18,000 in funding and up to $530,000 of services from the corporate partners.

The corporates that have signed up for the accelerator include energy utility EnergyAustralia facility services provider Spotless Group, e-commerce firm Amazon, networking equipment maker Cisco, internet technology provider Google and chipmaker Intel, while the government of the Australian state of Victoria is also a partner.
