US-based customer service software developer StellaService has raised $11m in a funding round featuring customer service technology provider Zendesk and, according to VentureBeat, mass media group Comcast.
The round also included Harbert Growth Partners, Battery Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), Gotham Ventures, Toba Capital, RRE Ventures, Forte Ventures and Green D Ventures, while Comcast invested through its corporate venturing unit, Comcast Ventures.
StellaService provides a software platform called Stella Connect that allows brands to measure and improve the performance of their contact centre agents by leveraging customer feedback and offering staff incentives based on improvement
The company recently sold mystery shopping software Stella Pulse, which measures the customer service performances of businesses, to consumer engagement technology provider PowerReviews for an undisclosed amount. It has now raised $48m in funding since being founded in 2009.
Comcast Ventures led StellaService’s $15m series C round in 2015, investing alongside Novel TMT, the venture capital firm backed by telecommunications company Novel Group, as well as Toba Capital, NVP, Battery Ventures, Gotham Ventures and RRE Ventures.
StellaService had secured $15m in a series B round led by NVP two years earlier that included existing investors Battery Ventures, Gotham Ventures, RRE and Forerunner. Its earlier backers also include Consigliere Brand Capital and various angel investors.
