He will also be responsible for leading investments in the cybersecurity, enterprise software, internet-of-things, cloud and analytics sectors.
Subramanian, who was ranked 15th in GCV ‘s 2018 Rising Star list, had been involved in several endeavours during his nearly five-year stint at Cisco Investments. He led investments in 11 cybersecurity companies including cybersecurity software developer Verodin and acquired assets with a cumulative deal value of over $3.7bn.
Regarding cybersecurity investments, Subramanian said: “Enterprises and governments are in an arms race with cyber adversaries that include hackers, fraudsters and nation states, all of whom are developing automated attack tools and techniques.
“Fortunately, there is massive innovation taking place in the cybersecurity segment to defend against such threats. These forces are creating significant investment opportunities for seasoned investors and growth potential for disruptive companies.”
