Lisa Suennen has left her position as managing director of GE Ventures, power and industrial equipment producer General Electric’s corporate venturing fund, CNBC has reported.
GE Ventures hired Suennen from healthcare investment firm Psilos Group in December 2016 to lead its healthcare investment team.
During Suennen’s time at the unit it invested in companies including Iora Health, Verana Health, Arterys and Vineti. She was one of three GE Ventures team members who jointly ranked second in Global Corporate Venturing’s 2018 Rising Stars list.
Suennen had spent more than 15 years at Psilos where she was managing partner. She is also managing partner of Venture Valkyrie, a media advisory firm and platform through which she writes and conducts interviews concerning investment.
GE Ventures has not officially announced who will lead the unit’s healthcare investments but two other managing directors, Alex De Winter and Leslie Bottorff, have health technology as part of their brief.
Suennen told CNBC she felt it was time to “find a new adventure,” without elaborating on her reasons for leaving. The move does come however, after GE announced in June this year it plans to spin off its GE Healthcare division into a separate company.
