Customer relationship management company SugarCRM has acquired Stitch, the US-based developer of a personalised digital assistant for salespeople , providing internet company Google with an exit, Fortune reported on Saturday.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Stitch is the creator of an app that integrates into the Google Apps email service and adds the ability to index all files and attachments and to track whether an email has been opened or a link has been clicked.
Stitch sent notice to its members last week that it was set to shut down as a standalone service. Its features will be integrated into SugarCRM’s platform.
The company attracted $3.25m in seed funding in July 2014 from Google Ventures, internet company Google’s corporate venturing arm, as well as Foundation Capital, Eniac Ventures, SoftTech VC, Freestyle Capital, SparkLabs Global and various angel investors.
Jason McDowall, co-founder and head of product of Stitch, said: “We share the same vision as SugarCRM, and by combining our teams, we are uniquely positioned to help shape the future of customer relationship management.”
