Yosuke Nakashima has been promoted to senior manager at the corporate venturing and innovation office for Japan-based chemical producer Sumitomo Chemical’s US division, Sumitomo Chemical America.
Based in Massachusetts for Sumitomo Chemical America, a subsidiary of conglomerate Sumitomo, since 2016 as a manager, Nakashima works with startups and academia to create next generation products and businesses through minority investment, research funding, co-development and licensing.
Sumitomo Chemical’s most recent investments have included France-based photonics technology producer Isorg, which raised $19m in series C funding last month.
